"Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful; and let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more, as you see     the Day approaching."

Hebrews 10:23-25

What to Expect at our Sunday Worship Service...

The church revealed in the New Testament met on the 1st day of every week. (Acts 20:7)  In their worship, they followed the specific directions of the apostles on how to worship. (Acts 2:42)  Determined to follow their example of worship, we invite you to visit our services and with us, follow the Bible's simple guidelines for worship.  If you visited the assembly here, this is what you would see:

  • Public Reading from the Bible (II Timothy 3:16-17)

  • Congregational a cappella singing that magnifies our faith in God, Christ, and the Holy Spirit. (Ephesians 5:19, Colossians 3:16, I Corinthians 14:15, Hebrews 15:15, Philippians 4:6)

  • Prayers offered to God through Jesus, consisting of praise, thanksgiving, confession, and requests. (Ephesians 5:20 and 6:18, Romans 12:12,        2 Corinthians 1:11)

  • Preaching from God's Word (II Timothy 4:2, Romans 10:14-15,                 I Corinthians 1:23)

  • Sharing with other Christians in the remembrance of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ through the Lord's Supper. (Matthew 26:24-30, Acts 20:7, I Corinthians 11:23-29)

  • Time for reflection to consider the blessings of God, along with an opportunity to give monetarily.  Guests are not expected to participate, but are welcomed should they choose to do so. (I Corinthians 16:1-2,     II Corinthians 8 & 9)

  • An opportunity to respond to God's message during the invitation song at the end of the sermon.  Responses may include requests for prayer (James 5:16) or a public confession of loyalty to Christ (Matthew 10:32-33), repentance of your sins determining a change in one's lifestyle to reflect commitment to Christ (Luke 13:3, Acts 17:30), and a desire to become a child of God through baptism. (Acts 2:38, Romans 6:3-7, Acts 8:34-39, Mark 16:16)

There are more scriptures that could be included in the study of the 1st Century church.  We will be glad to study with you concerning any of these areas.  Please "Contact Us" so that we can assist you.  Also, look at some of the topics found in our Study Resources section of the website.
