"THEM" study

As we focus on "THEM" in our Moving The Needle series, let's explore the answers to these questions together.

Godexpectustosharefaith

So far, we’ve talked about the PERSONAL nature and the COMMUNAL/CONGREGATIONAL nature of “moving the needle,” but does God have any other expectations when it comes to our spiritual growth? Is He satisfied with personal and congregational growth, or does He have a bigger plan for “moving the needle”?

Let's try to answer the question of whether or not God expects us to SHARE OUR FAITH. What exactly does God expect us to do when it comes to EVANGELISM? Are we really “moving the needle” as far as HE wants us to move it, or have we settled for something less?

Now that we know what God expects from us in terms of sharing our faith, how do I know if I’M ready to do that? Is this something that takes training, practice, or a certain “skill set” that I might not have? What kinds of things do I need to think about before I share my faith?

Let's take a look at some of the personal TOOLS that the Bible says are necessary to share our faith. We will look at attitudes, approaches, and some of the common pitfalls associated with sharing our faith. Are you ready to “move your needle” a little further?

HowdoIsharemyfaith

Maybe you realize the NEED for sharing your faith, and the TOOLS that are necessary for doing that, but you still don’t know HOW to do it. Is there a “right way” and a “wrong way” to share your faith? What are some things that we can take with us that could help us share our faith with someone else?

Let's try to put some PRACTICAL resources in your hands that will help you actually share your faith with others! This is where the rubber meets the road, and this is where the needle gets put into overdrive! Are you ready?

"US" Study

As we focus on "US" in our Moving The Needle series, let's explore the answers to these questions together.

Howdoesthechurchgrow

Is spiritual growth strictly a PERSONAL thing, or does it have something to do with my relationship to OTHER Christians? If a CHURCH wanted to “move their needle”, collectively, what could they do to make that happen? Is it as simple as meeting together once or twice a week, or is there more to it?

Let's take a look at what the Bible has to say about BUILDING FELLOWSHIP, and how we “move our needle” as a Church. It is time to take this discussion outside of the individual and into the realm of the Lord’s body!

WhatcanIdotokeepchurchgrowing

Maybe you are blessed to be a part of a growing church. If so, is it time to put things on “cruise control” and just kick back and enjoy it? Is there anything involved in MAINTAINING the fellowship that we have built in the Lord’s Church?

Let's open our Bibles and see what it takes to KEEP the needle moving in terms of the Church! It’s not enough to build fellowship; we must know how to MAINTAIN it! What is our responsibility in this area, and how can we make sure that the needle keeps moving?

Howdowehandleproblemsinchurch

If you are part of a church, you’ve had problems. Why? Because the Church is made up of people, and people have problems! Can these problems stall our spiritual growth? Can they cause the needle to stop moving? What are we supposed to do when problems arise in the Lord’s Church? How do we keep our needle moving when things go wrong?

Let's explore what the Bible has to say about moving our needle THROUGH the problems within the Church. As it turns out, God has anticipated our problems, and has given us everything we need to keep moving!

"ME" Study

As we focus on "ME" in our Moving The Needle series, let's explore the answers to these questions together.

HowdoesGodtalkwithme

We live in a world that has lots of theories and opinions when it comes to how God talks to us. But what is the truth? If God wanted to communicate with us, how would He do it? If He DID communicate with us, how important would it be for us to LISTEN to what He has to say?

We will look at the importance of listening to God through BIBLE STUDY, and how this can help us “move our needle”. In any relationship, communication is important for growth, and our relationship with God is no different!

HowdoIgetclosertoGod

Is our relationship with God a “one-way street,” or is there a way for us to communicate back to God? Has God “laid down the law” through His Word, expecting us to simply follow it, and having no real connection to Him? When it comes to PRAYER, have we properly understood how it relates to our spiritual growth?

Let's take a look at what the Bible has to say about PRAYER, and how our prayer life can be a tremendous resource for “moving our needle!"

WhatcanIdotogrow

Can it really be this simple? Is Bible study and prayer enough? What if I’m studying my Bible and praying, but I’m not “moving my needle?” What else can I do to grow, spiritually? Does the Bible give any helpful instructions as to HOW to make this happen?

Let's a look at some of the DISCIPLINES that are associated with spiritual growth, and what the Bible has to say about them. If we truly want to “move our needle,” we may find out that it takes some DISCIPLINE!

"HIM" Study

As we focus on "HIM" in our Moving The Needle series, let's explore the answers to these questions together.

PlanForMe

What has God done that would indicate that He has a desire for me to grow, spiritually? What was His intention for me when He created me? What can we learn about God, in general, that might cause a desire in me to grow, spiritually?

Explore the GRACE of God and how it motivates us to “move our needle.” Why is the GRACE of God the only true “starting point” for spiritual growth? Why is it the foundation for everything in the life of His people? What does the Bible say about God’s GRACE as a motivator for spiritual growth?

What is the biggest obstacle that we face when we are trying to “move our needle”? The answer is: SIN. Since the beginning of humanity, sin has been a problem, and it continues to be a problem. When it comes to SIN, what do we need to know that will help us move past it and continue to grow, spiritually?

Let's explore the concept of SIN and its effects on us. Why is our understanding of SIN so important to spiritual growth?

HowmuchdoesGodloveme

Our sin is a major problem, isn’t it? Is sin the “deal breaker” between God and us? Has He given up on us? Is there any reason for us to even try to grow, spiritually at this point? The answer is “yes”!

In spite of our sin, God continued to demonstrate His love for us! What did God do in response to our sin, and how can this help us “move our needle"? Take a look at what the Bible has to say about restoring the relationship, so that we can move our spiritual needles closer to HIM!
