ABOUT THIS EVENT
We will work with a variety of local shelters and programs to gather and distribute items to people in need in our community. “….as you did it to one of the least of My brothers, you did it to Me.” Matthew 25:40
EVENT DETAILS
Since our theme this year revolves around the home, we really want this to be an intentional family project. These bags will be going to women in sober living facilities and domestic violence shelters, so we want it to be a project where you (and your family) go out, shop together, pray about the women receiving the bag, and make it a priority to do this as a family service project and create intentional conversations in the home. Maybe you as a family or individual even read Matthew 25 and discuss it.
We’ll come together for a day of service on 4/27 where we’ll write encouraging messages and color pictures to go in the bags, decorate the bags, and pray for these women.
Each person/family will be responsible for shopping for and filling one whole bag (so we’re not doing sign ups for individual items- the sign up will be per bag and each slot will be one bag). Sign – up HERE for as many bags as you would like. What goes in the bags (all FULL SIZE and women’s products):
- Deodorant
- Shampoo Conditioner 2 in 1 (brands like Suave or Pantene carry these)
- Body wash
- Loofah
- Toothpaste
- Toothpaste holder/cover
- Toothbrush
- Hairbrush
- Nail polish
- Chapstick
- Bag of mints/gum
- Ponytail holders
You don’t have to provide the bag, they can just turn items in in a grocery bag making sure all items are there. Place your items on the table in the Missions Hallway.
