NIGERIA – Susana Homes

Dr. Chi Ekwenye-Hendricks is the Director of Right Steps, Inc., which serves the needs of women and children in Southeast Nigeria. Chi grew up in Nigeria and continued her studies in the U.S., receiving her Ph.D. in Child and Family Studies. In 1998, Chi began working with Right Steps and now divides her time between the US and Nigeria. Right Steps, Inc. has several ministry efforts. Buford has been involved in the support of Susana Homes, a residential facility that receives children, birth to teens, rescuing them from being orphaned, destitute or some state of homelessness. Currently there are 70 children. Several women also live there and receive basic training skills to help them re-enter society. Susana Homes also has a sustainable agricultural effort that provides 27% of the overall budget for the orphanage part of Susana Homes. A Church of Christ also meets on the property and has 200+ in attendance.
