NICARAGUA

The church at Buford has long been invested in the work of the Lord in Nicaragua, specifically in the town of Azarias, Leon. In 2017, Reynaldo Dominguez and his family began working with the congregation there. Through the efforts of Reynaldo and the congregation, the church has grown both spiritually and numerically. In 2020 they set out to increase focus on evangelism through campaigns and setting up Bible studies with those in the community. The congregation in Azarias also went by teams to visit and encourage some members that do not congregate regularly. The Azarias congregation has a great desire to help plant congregations in other areas of Nicaragua. They began and continue to support the work of the Lechecuagos congregation, which in January 2020, with the aid of the Buford Church of Christ, a new property was purchased. This year the construction project for a meeting space began. In 2021, a congregation in Ponelya was planted and they continue to support the activities to outreach to the community there. The youth of the congregation are active and participate in area youth camps, growing in their spiritual life. Gabriel Garcia, an 18 year old and member of Azarias, is attending the Nicaraguan Biblical Institute, while working to serve in the church today through preaching and evangelism.
